Join Dr Max Hawkins, Alltech mycotoxin management team nutritionist, as he presents the latest information regarding the mycotoxin levels found in corn silage and TMR samples and the increased risk this presents to dairy and beef cattle. Dr Hawkins will also highlight the key contributing mycotoxins and the correlating impacts to herd health and performance.

The webinar will take place on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at 3 pm GMT / 4 pm CET.

Mycotoxins are produced by soil-borne moulds, and the harvested crop will contain both the mould spores and mycotoxins. The storage environment, influenced by pre-harvest crop stress, moisture level, packing density and the ability to keep the stored forages oxygen free, are the determining key factors that can cause mycotoxin levels to increase during storage time. A continued monitoring of mycotoxin presence and levels in stored forage is an integral part of a forage management programme, with the end goal of reducing the impact on cattle performance and health.
