The latest edition of VIV India came to an end today in Bangalore which proved for many a most worthwhile event. A survey of many of the international exhibitors by GFMT revealed widespread satisfaction with the quality of the visitors if not the overall numbers attending the three-day event.

Within the main hall of the high-rounded BIEC halls on the outskirts of the city, there was clear evidence of feed equipment exhibitors from around the world exploring the growing Indian market. Most of the key equipment suppliers were in evidence and the discussions between exhibitors and visitors didn't disappoint.

CLFMA, the Indian feed manufacturers association was present with a stand and many of its members were visiting. Feed production has shown great growth over the past decade or more, but it was evident that more had to be done to progress the industry. Based on a new country bench-mark being promoted by GFMT magazine, Indian should have a total production output of around 90 million tonnes to meet the international average based on per capita consumption globally. Currently India produces 27 million tonnes of compounded feeds and is ranked sixth in world standings according to Alltech's 2013 survey of 130 countries.
The VIV India event was co-located with Glance 2014, the VIV India Summit and 2nd Global Milling Conference which all helped to attract a high-profile and high-quality audience to Bangalore from the intensive livestock and feed industries.
