10 things to know about the US drought

As we all know, over the last few months parts of the USA have experienced a severe drought.  Data released by the National Drought Mitigation Center shows that almost two-thirds of the contiguous United States is experiencing moderate drought or worse.  The knock-on effects of this are wide ranging and, in some cases, surprising as this article reveals.
